Customer Spotlight:

East Chestnut St. Mennonite Church

In the year 2000, a youth group from East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church in Lancaster, PA, visited Koinonia Farm.  During their stay, they visited Cafe Campesino, a fledgling operation beginning to gain traction as a fair trade coffee company. The youth group was looking for a meaningful and fun fundraising activity and decided that fair trade, organic, shade grown coffee from Cafe Campesino fit the bill.  So they placed an order for some one pound bags and, upon their return home, began selling coffee to the congregation of their church.  Jump to 2010 and this project continues!  The folks at ECSMC continue to enjoy CC coffee every Sunday morning at church as well as during the week in their homes with the coffee they purchase from the youth at the church.  Nearly ten years of spreading the good word and work of fair trade, organic, shade grown coffee.  That's quite a run!  Needless to say, we have enjoyed and appreciated their longstanding support of our company and the greater work of fair trade commerce.  And we were surprised and delighted to meet the current youth group a few days ago when they stopped in to say hello, take a tour of the roastery, and enjoy some World Cup Soccer action on our "loaned for this special event" TV in the coffee house.  Cheers to ECSMC and their fair trading!
